Outdoor jobs are where “we’ll sort it later” does the most damage — because later means next summer. These three things get settled first.
You get a fixed written price once Avi has seen the site and the ground it’s going on. Sloping sections and soft ground change the sub-structure, and that is exactly the sort of thing that turns into a variation later if nobody looks at it first.
Agreed before we start, on the same page as the price. If you’re building for a birthday, Christmas or a wedding, tell us the date and we’ll be straight with you about whether it’s achievable.
We don’t leave a half-built deck over your lawn while we start the next job. Yours gets finished, stained and cleared up before we move on.

Why it’s still not done

It depends mostly on how high off the ground it sits and what it’s attached to. Plenty of low decks don’t need one; raised decks and anything structural usually do. Avi will tell you which yours is at the quote rather than leaving you to find out later.
Most take days rather than weeks once we start, but the weather gets a vote. You’ll get a realistic finish date in writing, and if rain moves it, you’ll hear that from us before you have to ask.
Yes — and it’s better done by the people who built it, while the timber is clean and before it’s been walked on. It gets quoted as part of the job, not as an extra afterwards.

No. Avi is the owner and he’s the one who does the work, so the site visit is him looking at the job and telling you what it will take. If the price doesn’t suit you, that’s genuinely fine.
